Marisha Palm, MSc, PhD

Dr. Marisha Palm joined Tufts Medical Center in October 2018. She has almost 20 years of experience bringing diverse groups of interest holders together to make health care research more relevant and impactful. Her work focuses on growing multi-interest holder, cross-disciplinary, trans-organizational partnerships, with an emphasis on communication and collaborative working. Dr. Palm began her career in the UK, where she spent over a decade working in health services research and as a public engagement expert at a regional and then national level.

Since returning to the US, Dr. Palm has led teams at The Dartmouth Institute (TDI), Tufts Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies (ICRHPS), and Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). She was the Tufts Lead for the JHU-Tufts Trial Innovation Network from 2018 and 2023 and, along with Dr. Harry Selker, subsequently received a Tufts CTSI supplement to develop a Clinical Trial Design Lab toolkit that supports innovative and impactful clinical trial design.

Dr. Palm is Associate Director of Organizational Impact at Tufts CTSI, and the Research Lead for Collaborative System Innovation Methods within the Center for Biomedical Systems Design at ICRHPS. She is involved in national and international collaboration and engagement work groups and advisory committees; has co-directed and co-taught a graduate course on Health Care Activism, Community Health, and Patient-Centered Research; and co-edited a book on Broadly-Engaged Team Science in Clinical and Translational Research, published by Springer.
