Karen M. Freund, MD, MPH

Dr. Freund is a Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine and the KL2 Program Director and ADAPT Research Lead at Tufts CTSI. In these roles, she sits on a number of committees, including the Tufts University-Wide Committee on Training and Faculty Development (UCTFD), the Tufts Global Health Council, the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Research Committee, and multiple new faculty search committees. She participates in Addressing Disparities in Asian Populations through Translational Research (ADAPT), and provides senior mentorship on health disparities proposals and activities. Dr. Freund has a track record of successful leadership in developing interdisciplinary team science, and overseeing institutional training programs. She has mentored over 40 trainees, including 10 underrepresented minority faculty. She leads the KL2 Career Development Awards and the Junior Faculty Research Career Development Forum.
