Brian Gross joined Tufts CTSI full-time in November 2025 after a consulting engagement with the institution. He brings more than 35 years of experience leading global teams and processes in medical device and health data science innovation. At Philips, he led the Genomics for Infectious Disease business and launched multiple Class II software medical devices, including AI-based clinical decision platforms that integrate genomic and clinical data.
His work bridges biomedical engineering and informatics, applying machine learning, predictive modeling, and real-time data integration to improve patient outcomes. Brian has served as an investigator on competitive NIH and Department of Defense programs with academic and clinical partners such as MIT and the Mayo Clinic. A senior member of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), he has contributed to FDA-adopted medical device safety and alarm standards. He holds degrees in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and previously served as a licensed Paramedic in New York and a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Massachusetts.
