Joseph Gormley serves as a consulting CTO/CAIO with over twenty-five years of science and engineering experience within Fortune 500 pharmaceutical and chemical corporations, NIH funded academic institutions and early-stage biotechnology companies. His extensive background in software development includes post-degree training and expertise in project management, software engineering, bioinformatics, cheminformatics, data science, and advanced machine learning. His commercial/academic achievements have included the design of intelligent software systems for clinical decision support, in silico drug discovery, and a diverse range of systems and synthetic biology initiatives.

At the Tufts CTSI, Mr. Gormley leads the design and development of TAP Discovery, a full-stack AI-based platform for multiscale clinical and laboratory data analysis, automated data mining, and knowledge-enhanced machine learning. TAP Discovery is supporting clinical and translational research across Tufts CTSI, enabling a new generation of biochemical exploration and population health capabilities.
