Dr. Cheryl London is the Anne Engen and Dusty Professor of Comparative Oncology at the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and a veterinary medical oncologist with over 25 years of experience in translational and comparative oncology and drug development. In her role as Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education, she has worked to expand the research footprint at Cummings School and support dynamic engagement of DVM students in the overall research enterprise. As Director of the Clinical Research Shared Resource at the Cummings School, she is responsible for overseeing all studies in client-owned animals with spontaneous disease. Dr. London has ongoing collaborations with the Broad Institute, UMass Medical School, Tufts Medical Center, MIT and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute as well as several projects with industry partners. These include immuno-oncology studies in the setting of osteosarcoma, diffuse large B cell lymphoma and soft tissue sarcoma that involve spontaneous cancer in dogs to study novel strategies aimed at altering the tumor microenvironment and utilizing unique small molecule/immunotherapy combinations. Lastly, she holds a joint appointment with Tufts CTSI, where she directs the Research Collaboration Team and leads a High Impact Specialized Innovation Program focused on strategies to integrate veterinary research findings with human health data in preclinical translation.

Dr. London earned her DVM at the Cummings School, completed her Residency in Medical Oncology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and received her PhD in Immunology at Harvard University, where she was also a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Pathology.  Prior to joining Tufts University, Dr. London was an assistant professor at the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine, and then the Shackelford Professor of Comparative Oncology at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
