Welcome to Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute (Tufts CTSI).

Tufts CTSI was established in August 2008 with a grant (the Clinical and Translational Science Awards, CTSA) from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Our promotion of collaborative, cross-disciplinary, full-spectrum translational research has a substantial impact on how research is done, at Tufts and beyond. Tufts CTSI reflects Tufts’ unique emphasis on community in biomedical research by including multiple academic institutions, hospitals and health plans, industry leaders, community organizations, and other participants who share our vision, in Massachusetts and Maine and nationally.

We span many of the schools of Tufts University, its affiliated hospitals across Massachusetts and Maine, participating universities, community organizations, and non-profit and for-profit organizations. We are the home of support and education aimed at transforming research across all of our partners.

Our mission is to stimulate innovative broadly-engaged team science across the translational research spectrum to improve clinical care and health.

We link scientists and scholars from a wide range of disciplines with clinical investigators, policy makers, and industry and community leaders to collaborate in conducting innovative clinical and translational research. We cultivate this collaboration and innovation by offering education, research expertise, and financial support to investigators.
