Education in Research Methods

The Tufts CTSI sponsors a series of statistical, epidemiological, and research-oriented seminars and workshops for the Tufts University community. Our programs introduce new and experienced researchers, hospital personnel, and university and affiliated hospital communities to relevant research concepts, approaches, and analytic methods.

In addition to these regular seminars, we also customize seminars and workshops to fit the needs of research groups. These trainings are offered at no charge, subject to staff availability, to the Tufts University community.  We welcome participants of all levels, including research assistants, clinical researchers, and junior and senior faculty.

The seminars and workshops are co-offered by the Design and Data Resource Center (DDRC) within the Tufts CTSI and Tuft’s Medical Center’s Biostatistical Research Center (BRC).  The DDRC staff provides extensive study design, database, statistical, and editorial support for clinical research projects.

Experienced statisticians and epidemiologists teach the one- or two-hour seminars, workshops, or multi-day mini courses, and instructors often encourage audience participation which can lead to lively discussions.  Course content makes use of current professional literature for each specialty.

Descriptions of course offerings can be found here.
